Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is hosting Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
The Super Kings had suffered a season-opening defeat to the Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets. However, they had many positives with Ruturaj Gaikwad smashing 92 runs off of 50 to aid the Super Kings in their first-innings total of 178/7.
As for Lucknow Super Giants, they, on the other hand, defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 50 runs to start their season on a high. The Super Giants scored 193/6 when batting first with debutants Kyle Mayers and Nicholas Pooran excelling with the bat. Later Mark Wood came in and picked up five wickets for 14 runs, while Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi each picked up two wickets to keep the Capitals to just 143.
The Chennai lads win in their won den and the sea of Yellow scream in joy.
Lucknow, despite getting a good start, lost the plot after losing qucik wickets.
But Nicholas Pooran (32), Marcus Stoinis (21), Ayush Badoni (23) and Krishnappa Gowtham (17) made sure to chase down the total, but it was not enough.
Moeen Ali picked up 4 wicket while impact player Tushar Deshpande, despite being expensive got 2 wickets to his name. Mitchell Santner also took a wicket helping CSK win.
Slower ball and Badoni advanced down and swung it hard.
But it wasn't enough as MS Dhoni caught the high going shot.

He bowled wide to Pooran, and the batter hit it trying to clear the ground, but stokes as always took a good catch at the rope.

Moeen Ali in his final over got a wicket. He's got a wicket in every single one of them.
Stoinis backed away and looked to pull hard but it sneaks under him and hits the top of leg stump.

Krunal danced down and looked to go straight for a big hit but it goes and lands into Jadeja's hand.

After such a great Powerplay, the game has turned around!
After the loss of two quick wickets, the captain had to stay and play, but Rahul gifted his wicket as well.
Floated up around off and Rahul went for the slog-sweep.
But he hit to the big side, and Gaikwad took the catch at deep midwicket!,

Hooda too went down on one leg to slogsweep, but hits it flat which goes in Ben Stokes hand.

It was a fullish delivery on middle and Mayers went down on one leg to slogsweep.
He hit it straight down deep mid-wicket's throat and Conway barely had to move to take the catch.

The batter punched to extra cover for a single but the fielder threw at the bowler's end and the ball sped away to the fence which saw CSK gifting runs.
His second fifty in as many matches.
Tushar Deshpande comes in as the impact player for Rayudu!
CSK back home have gone on to score 217 runs after losing 7 wickets. The openers got them off to a blazing start and it needed a Bishnoi to break the partnership.
The bowler then got three wickets to his name and was also part of some catches on the field. Mark Wood also picked up three wickets.
As for the batters, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni's camoes added to LSG's woes.
Mark Wood bowled at 151.2kph and Dhoni threw ended up slicing it in the air.
It was an easy catch for Bishnoi at deep cover.

Badoni comes in as the impact player and replaces Avesh Khan.
Hit-the-deck-hard length ball and Jadeja went to clear it with his front leg to heave it over mid-wicket.
But the timing isn't great and Bishnoi gobbled it up at deep mid-wicket.

But the ball looped up off the outer edge and Yash Thakur took a safe catch at backward point.

Moeen Ali danced down the track a long way to go for a swing across the line.
But Bishnoi probably saw that and shortened his length. The ball went on to turn away and Pooran did the rest.

Ravi Bishnoi is pumped up. Despite being hit for some SIXES, he got the better of Shivam Dube.
The CSK batter shaped up to slog over mid-wicket but he lost his shape and tries to over-hit.
The ball lobed up off the top-edge and went towards Wood at short third man.

This was banged in short and Conway goes for the pull. But he did not get the timing and only gets elevation.
While it looked like it would land short of the fielder but Pandya from deep backward square leg ran in and timed his dive perfectly.

This is flighted up and Gaikwad took it on but only got a leading edge that almost flew over short third.
