Mouni Roy was born in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, on  September 28, 1985

School and college life

She did her schooling in Cooch Behar, and then did mass communication at Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi

She left the course midway and went to Mumbai to try her luck in the Hindi film industry

Mouni made her acting debut in 2006 with the TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

She made her film debut with the Punjabi film Hero Hitler in Love  in 2011
