Mirzapur Season 3 begins right after the massacre that occurred at the end of Season 2. We see Guddu and Golu on the throne and Kaleen Bhaiya recovering from his gunshot wounds. Guddu’s task is to hold on to the throne without getting himself and Golu killed. Soon, Kaleen Bhaiya is back, and the game resumes.
While Mirzapur Season 3 centers around the men fighting for power, it’s more about the women holding the reins to the throne from the background. Both Beena Tripathi and Golu Pandit are phenomenal in doing so. Even Madhuri plays a significant role!
Ali Fazal as Guddu has become what he hated in the last season. Power has gone to his head, making him do wild things. He needs Golu by his side to make rational decisions, and when she disappears…
However, Mirzapur Season 3 is more of a buildup for the future than existing in the present. The promised "bhaukal" comes in installments, leaving viewers wondering why the longer runtime if there is only limited content available.
Yes, there is a lot that Season 4 holds for us, and the entire season hints at that. But what about the present? It feels like we are moving forward without any immediate redemption in sight.
Kaleen Bhaiya finally rises, with Pankaj Tripathi delivering a subtle yet powerful performance. His return is impactful, and it will be exciting to see what he does now that he is back on the throne.
There is a post-credit scene at the end of Episode 10 that you must not miss. It teases a lot for Season 4, including a pivotal return.
