Manjummel Boys emerged as the all-time highest grossing film in the history of Malayalam cinema. The movie collected over Rs. 242 crore within its lifetime theatrical run.
The Chidambaram directorial opened the Rs. 200 crore club in Malayalam film industry, by becoming the first movie to hit the milestone.
The survival drama also emerged as one of the longest-running films produced by the Malayalam cinema post-pandemic, and completed 60 days at the theatres.
Highest-grossing Malayalam film in Tamil Nadu
Manjummel Boys set history in Tamil Nadu, by emerging as the highest grossing Malayalam film in the state.
The Soubin Shahir starrer also emerged as the first-ever Malayalam film to cross the Rs. 54 crore mark, in Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, Manjummel Boys succeeded in surpassing the lifetime collections of Rajinikanth starter Lal Salaam, at the Tamil Nadu box office.
Notably, the Soubin Shahir starrer entered the Rs.100 crore and Rs. 150 crore clubs, just with the collection of its Malayalam version. The Telugu-dubbed version was released much later.
Manjummel Boys also set a new record in the Telugu states, by selling the highest number of tickets for a dubbed film yet.
