What’s Maharaj Libel Case?

In 1861, Karsandas Mulji accused religious leaders of the Pushtimarg Vaishnava sect of sexual abuse of female devotees. He exposed them and gave proof through several articles.

Mulji won the lawsuit in 1862. Chief Justice Sir Matthew Richard gave him the rights to expose the wrongdoings. His victory cemented his legacy in journalism.

Netflix halts release
