Shah Rukh Khan

It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s world and we are all just living in it. In film, he traces back his roots to help people fulfil their dreams

Rajkumar Hirani

Rajkumar Hirani as a filmmaker invests his entire first half in establishing what is to come and its job done well

First half show

First half is a roller coaster with actors in full form, top-notch dialogues and heartfelt emotions. But with a haunting end in itself

Snip snap and England

The whole challenging saga of the difficult route shown in the promotional content boils down to 10 minutes and the group is in England

What happens behind?

We are not on that side of story for long. What about the path to England? The narrative just shifts to what happens beyond

Love story or no story

Manu and Hardy are separated for long but are not emotionally established enough to root for their reunion. This love story lacked depth

Bland climax

Also the way the climax is built is so random that what should make audience feel a jolt leaves them actually feeling bizarre

Performances

Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, and Boman Irani all nailed their characters

A two-part movie

In terms of direction, Dunki felt like a film cleverly divided into two halves. First to establish the build-up and second part for just some more details

Well done music

The music department deserves appreciation. Pritam’s background score is amazing, and the songs are well composed

Final verdict

What could have been a moving story turns out to be a bizarre product in the end. But worth watching for Shah Rukh Khan!
