In a thrilling match, India beat South Africa by seven runs in the final to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kingston Oval in Barbados.
Virat Kohli, who is not only a legendary batsman but also the most followed Asian on Instagram, shined by scoring 76 runs in the match, helping the scoreboard touch a total of 176 runs.
For his splendid performance in the final, Virat Kohli was awarded the Player of the Match. The crowd at Barbados also cheered and applauded King Kohli.
Kohli announced after the match that he has opted to end his T20 international career with the World Cup win. He said this while interacting with cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle.
After winning the Player-of-the-Match award, the star Indian batsman said, "This was my last T20 World Cup and this is exactly what we wanted to achieve.”
Soon after India scripted history by winning the T20 World Cup, Kohli was spotted interacting with his wife, actress Anushka Sharma and their two little kids.
Teary eyed Virat Kohli, who announced his retirement from the T20 Internationals, gave a warm hug to Team India captain Rohit Sharma on the field.
A true Punjabi, Kohli performed bhangra along with Arshdeep Singh and other fellow cricketers on clinching the trophy. His energetic dance skills are also a talk on the internet.
