Radhika, the bride of the year!

Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant, married Indian billionaire Anant Ambani on July 12, 2024. Have a look at the outfits she wore for the D-day.

Radhika’s wedding lehenga

This iconic wedding lehenga is designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. It featured Zardozi cut-work, a trailing ghagra with a second detachable trail, a 5-meter head veil, a blouse, and a tissue shoulder dupatta.

Following tradition

Noticeably, Radhika Merchant’s ensemble is an intricate interpretation of ‘Panetar’ - the Gujarati tradition of brides wearing red and white.

Radhika’s jewellery

For her fairytale wedding, the young bride chose to wear the family jewels that her nani, mom and sister wore to their weddings.

Exquisitely designed

The ghagra, with three borders of red, is a crystal-clear mix of Naqshi, Saadi and Zardozi hand-embroidered in intricate floral booties that are adorned with stones and sequins, and a touch of red Resham.

Dupatta adds drama

Radhika Merchant’s stunning attire is complete with a fully embroidered red shoulder dupatta that adds drama to her outfit.

One more look – Vidaai!

For the vidaai ceremony, Radhika chose to wear a beautiful lehenga by Manish Malhotra. Notice the blouse which features real gold karchobi work, inspired by the textile heritage of Kutch, Gujarat.

The beautiful bride

This ensemble, paired with a sunset-hued Banarasi brocade lehenga, pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of India. A lattice-patterned red veil complements the outfit.
