Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani film Satyaprem Ki Katha was originally titled as Satyanarayan Ki Katha. The title was changed to avoid getting into a controversy  

Samrat Prthiviraj 

Akshay Kumar’s film Samrat Prthiviraj was initially given the name Prithviraj but that led to controversy from Shri Rajput Karni Sena

Laxmii

Another film of Akshay, Laxmii, was initially supposed to be named Laxmii Bomb. But that was believed to be demeaning towards Goddess Laxmi

Padmaavat

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmaavat faced a strong protest from the Karni Sena. The film eventually had to change title name from Padmavati to Padmaavat 

Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela 

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer this film was initially titled as just Ram-Leela. To avoid religious conflicts, the name was changed

Billu

Billu was originally named as Billu Barber. The film faced objections from a representative of the barber community from Mumbai which led to the name change

Loveyatri

Aayush Sharma’s debut film Loveyatri was originally titled as Loveratri. The original name was believed to be hurting the sentiments of Hindus thus the name change

Madras Cafe

John Abraham’s film Madras Cafe was initially titled as Jaffna. Coincidently Jaffna is also a place in Sri Lanka so under pressure the film’s name was changed
