Writer Moin Baig had proposed the script of this series almost 14 years back to Bhansali. Due to already planned projects, the series couldn’t happen earlier

Shooting period

The series was shot in a period of 380 days. What was earlier planned to be a film, is now a web series of eight episodes on Netflix

Bhansali’s grand set

It is reported that Heeramandi’s set is Bhansali’s biggest set ever.  A team of 700 craftsmen worked for 7 months to complete the grand production design

Makeup and hair

The cast of the series shared that it would take the actresses around 2-3 hours each to get ready in their respective characters. Aditi Rao Hydari was the quickest in 45 minutes
