Chiyaan Vikram's latest period drama Thangalaan is set to make its OTT debut on September 20, 2024, only on Netflix, which delves into the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka.

Ratsasan (Hotstar)

The film was written with Vikram as the hero, but he rejected it due to unknown reason. Later it went to Vishal, who also rejected the film due to prior commitments. Finally, it went to Vishnu Vishal.

Bombay (Hotstar)

Although reports say Vikram rejected the Arvind Swamy film, the actor revealed that he lost the film due to poor audition for the Shekhar Narayanan Pillai role. The film also stars Manisha Koirala in the lead.

Kannathil Muthamittal (Aha)

Reports say director Mani Ratnam had approached Vikram for Amudha's father's role, but his refusal to do the film made Ratnam cast J D Chakravarthy for the role of Dileepan.

Alai Payuthey (Aha)

Chiyaan Vikram turned down the role of Swarnamalya's fiancée Shyam in Mani Ratnam's Alaipayuthey due to unknown reasons. Later the role went to actor Karthik Kumar.

The sci-fi film was dropped in 2010 due to difference in opinions between the director, producer, and Chiyaan Vikram, facing rejection of the script. Later in 2014 the film went to actor Suriya.

The action drama was first approached to Ajith Kumar and Chiyaan Vikram. However, both the actor rejected the film due to unknown reasons. Later it became one of the blockbusters of Suriya.
