The year 2023 witnessed many major sporting events such as the Asian Games, Asia Cup, Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, and more. Indian athletes, whether participating in individual sports or group events, worked hard and made India proud in different parts of the world.

As the year draws to a close, it's opportune moment to assess the international rankings of all Indian teams in diverse sports and ascertain their positions as we approach the beginning of 2024.
Badminton Doubles
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty concluded the year by securing the second position in the BWF Men's Doubles rankings.
Men's Hockey
The Indian Men's Hockey Team wraps up the year 2023 holding the 3rd position in the world rankings.
Women's Hockey
As the year comes to a close, India is positioned at 6th place in the Women's World Hockey Rankings.
Men's Cricket
T20I: No. 1 spot with 265 points
ODI: No. 1 spot with 121 points
Test: No. 1 spot with 118 points
WTC 2023-25: Team India has ended the year with a loss against South Africa and currently is in the 6th spot.
Women's Cricket
ODI: 4th spot with 97 points
T20I: 3rd spot with 260 points
Men's Football
The Indian Men's Football Team concludes the year at the 18th position in Asia and secures the 102nd spot in the FIFA rankings globally.

Women's Football:
The Indian Women's Football Team concludes the year at the 65th position in Asia.
Men's and Women's Kabaddi
The Indian team has not participated in any major world tournaments since December 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, there is currently no ranking for the team.
Men's Basketball
Following the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, Team India is positioned at the 81st spot in the rankings.
Women's Basketball
After the FIBA Women's Continental Championships, Team India is currently placed at the 67th spot in the rankings.
Men's Volleyball
As of the latest rankings, the India men's national volleyball team is positioned at the 73rd spot.
Women's Volleyball
As of July 31, 2023, the Indian women's national volleyball team is ranked at the 62nd spot.
