During the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 much-anticipated match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed a star-studded line-up as Bollywood celebrity Kareena Kapoor Khan, veteran boxer May Kom were seen on Sunday. 

The 43-year-old actress joined the captains and the match referee for the coin toss, marking the start of the much-awaited clash. 

Alongside Kareena, legendary boxer MC Mary Kom, Shark Tank's Vineeta Singh, designer Masaba Gupta, and journalist Faye D’Souza were also in attendance, showing their support for women's sports.

Winning the toss, DC skipper Meg Lanning chose to bat first against Smriti Mandhana's RCB. With DC holding 8 points and RCB following closely with 6 from as many games, both teams entered the match ranked second and third, respectively. This game will be crucial to see which team will join Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Playoffs.

Delhi Capitals aim to recover from their narrow 1-run loss against UP Warriorz (UPW) in their previous fixture, while RCB seeks redemption after their defeat against Gujarat Giants (GG).

At the time of writing, after 16 overs, DC has scored 143 runs, losing both their openers in quick succession. Jemimah Rodrigues went on to smash a quick 50 in 26 balls and was joined by Alice Capsey at the crease. RCB is again in search of wickets to contain DC's scoring.
