After securing two victories in their first two games of the Women's Premier League (WPL), the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered defeat against the Delhi Capitals (DC). And now, in the clash against the Mumbai Indians (MI), they have already lost four quick wickets.

Playing at their home ground, this is a setback for RCB, who had high hopes as they play half their games at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The early departures of skipper Smriti Mandhana (9), Sophie Devine (9), and Sabbhineni Meghana (11) all within the Powerplay have dampened their spirits.

RCB managed to score just 34 runs and lost 3 wickets in six overs, with Issy Wong, stand-in captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Saika Ishaque each claiming one wicket. They lost the 4th wicket of Richa Ghosh (7) to Pooja Vastrakar's bowling.

Unhappy with the team's performance, fans have taken to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to express their disappointment, stating that RCB is continuing its legacy of choking during tournaments.

As of writing this article, 13 overs have been completed, and RCB has managed to score just 78 runs while losing 5 wickets. While Ellyse Perry is at the crease, she just lost her partner Sophie Molineux for 12. RCB are in huge trouble.

At the toss, the Mumbai Indians Women won and chose to field. While MI made no changes, RCB brought in Ellyse Perry, who was benched in the previous game due to being unfit.

In the inaugural season, MI Women won both their games against RCB Women and will be looking to continue their winning momentum against the Bengaluru franchise.
