Just days before the start of the 2nd edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL), on February 23, the tournament's opening ceremony is set to feature numerous Bollywood actors. While it was already known that Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, and Tiger Shroff would be gracing the occasion, today (February 21) saw the social media handles add two more posts introducing actors Varun Dhawan and Shahid Kapoor to the tournament.

The first edition also featured Kiara Advani dancing to her popular numbers, along with Kriti Sanon and singer AP Dhillon adding to the spectacle. With almost five prominent male actors scheduled to perform and one still yet to be announced at the opening ceremony, netizens began to question the idea.

Shortly after the posts were made, fans commented under them, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter), asking whether it was a cricket tournament or a Filmfare award show.
