The countdown has begun for the 2nd edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL), with the inaugural match between defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Before the February 23 game, the tournament's opening ceremony will see Bollywood actors grace the occasion.

The official social media handles of the WPL have unveiled a star-studded guest list, including actors Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan, and Tiger Shroff, who will be present at the stadium from 6:30 PM IST.
WPL first announced Kartik Aaryan and said, "Yeh Kingdom nahin, Ab Queendom Hai! Join @kartikaaryan as he fights for the Crown for his Queendom".
Later, WPL posted about Sidharth Malhotra and wrote, "@sidmalhotra joins the Crown for his Queendom".
While fans thought it was done, WPL posted about Tiger Shroff and wrote, "Join @iTIGERSHROFF as he fights for the Crown for his Queendom!"
And today (February 21), WPL made another post with Varun Dhawan, and it read, "Join @Varun_dvn as he fights for the Crown for his Queendom!"
Following the curtain-raiser, the tournament's opening match will see the Harmanpreet Kaur-led MI take on Meg Lanning's DC. The initial leg of matches will be held at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, with the subsequent matches scheduled at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The WPL will feature a total of 22 games, including the regular season, one eliminator, and the final match. The Final of the tournament is set to take place on March 17 in New Delhi.

In the inaugural edition of the WPL, Mumbai Indians clinched the championship title after defeating Delhi Capitals in the final.
