The Women's Premier League's (WPL) second edition is just hours away, and preparations for the same are in full swing, whether it's for the WPL opening ceremony or the match between the first edition finalists Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC). However, what fans have enjoyed the most are the delightful interactions between Shah Rukh Khan and the cricketers meeting at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, February 22.

Among the several cricketers he met, he also posed for pictures with the Indian girls and batter Jemimah Rodrigues of DC, shared the picture on Instagram, and captioned it, "Coach Kabir Khan came and gave us his blessing before the start of the TATA WPL ♥️". Kabir Khan was SRK's character from the iconic movie 'Chak De! India'.

Not only that but also grabbed fans' attention was the King of Bollywood and Australian cricketer and DC captain Meg Lanning striking Shah Rukh Khan's signature pose. The moment was captured on camera and quickly went viral.

WPL Opening ceremony:

Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, the tournament's opening ceremony will feature numerous Bollywood actors, namely Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, and Shahid Kapoor. 

The opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM IST, followed by the tournament's opening match. Mumbai Indians (MI), led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will take on Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals (DC). These two teams were finalists in the 1st edition.

WPL schedule:

The initial phase of matches will be held at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, with subsequent games scheduled at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The WPL will feature a total of 22 games, including the regular season, one eliminator, and the final match. The tournament's climax is set for March 17 in New Delhi.

Indian fans can tune in to the WPL 2024 opening ceremony on Sports18 and Sports18 Khel channels. Additionally, viewers can stream the event on the Jio Cinema app and website.
