WPL 2024: From trolling Royal Challengers Bangalore to getting picked; Kate Cross receives warm 'Welcome to RCB'

The excitement around the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 Auction reached its zenith as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a notable move by securing the services of the talented English cricketer Kate Cross.

The seasoned bowler, priced at Rs 30 lakhs, was acquired for her base price. While this marks a significant moment for the franchise, the move comes with its fair share of intriguing backstories.

Kate Cross's journey to RCB prompted fans to uncover her past Twitter posts, adding an interesting layer to the narrative. It's widely known that she supports Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

One resurfaced tweet, in particular, showcased a user confidently predicting that RCB wouldn't emerge victorious in the IPL. Kate's response to that was, "Good job, I don't support RCB then!"

However, amid all this, Royal Challengers Bangalore went on to give the England player the proper welcome. Cross also spoke about getting picked and said, "Absolutely delighted to have seen that I've been picked up in the auction to represent Bangalore. Looking forward to donning the red and the gold. Always been a huge fan of the IPL and obviously the WPL last year. Love what it's doing for the women's game and can't wait to be involved".

She also shared an old photo of herself in the RCB jersey and said, "Always had a soft spot for @RCBTweets, Al" but later also added, "Ps. Still @ChennaiIPL".

RCB have also got most of their slots filled and will be eyeing to win the trophy in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 after a not-so-good inaugural season.
