What an electrifying Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 Final it has been between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)! After winning the toss and opting to bat, DC got off to a flying start, courtesy of Shafali Verma's aggressive batting. However, following the Strategic Timeout, the momentum shifted in RCB's favour as Sophie Molineux claimed three wickets - Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Alice Capsey in one over.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi witnessed a dramatic change in momentum as DC, who had raced to 61 for 0 at the end of the batting Powerplay, collapsed to 113 all-out in 18.3 overs. Shreyanka Patil was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4 wickets, while Asha Sobhana picked up two.

The batting collapse saw Shafali (44) departing first, followed by Jemimah Rodrigues getting bowled for a duck on the sweep, and Alice Capsey followed suit on a pre-empted lap sweep. The scoreboard went from 64 for 0 to 65 for 3 in no time.

RCB capitalized on the opportunity, with Meg Lanning (23) being trapped in front by Shreyanka, and Asha Shobhana striking twice in the 14th over, sending back Marizanne Kapp (8) and Jess Jonassen (3). Delhi never recovered, as Radha Yadav was run out (12) and it was followed by Minnu Mani (5), Arundhati Reddy (10) and Taniya Bhatia (0). DC has handed RCB a below-par total of 114 runs chase in the final.

As of writing this article, RCB has scored 20 runs after 5 overs, with Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine at the crease, aiming to guide their side to victory.

At the toss, DC opted for the same squad after winning the toss and opting to bat first in the Final encounter, while RCB made one change, bringing in Sabbhineni Meghana in place of Shraddha Poklharkar.
