Gujarat Giants (GG) entered Match 10 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) against Delhi Capitals (DC) hoping to secure their first win of the season. The side has lost all the matches played so far, and now, against DC, they put on a strong show by restricting the side to 163 runs and taking eight wickets. However, coming into bat, they had a maiden first over and later lost Laura Wolvaardt for a three-ball duck.

The score of 163 was the average score when batting first at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and on this pitch, Delhi Capitals have also scored plenty. However, today they managed to achieve the average needed. Fans now believe this is a golden opportunity for GG to secure their first win.
However, many feel bad for the players in this team and want a change in the coaching and staff. The mixed reactions were seen on social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), where fans poured their frustration.
About the clash, Meg Lanning's 55 was the anchor, and DC built their innings around her. There were a couple of useful contributions from Alice Capsey (27 off 17 balls) and Annabel Sutherland (20 off 12 balls), which helped them surpass 150 runs, with Shikha Pandey's unbeaten 14 off 8 balls being the final cameo.
Despite taking eight wickets, the Giants could have restricted the Delhi side further if they hadn't been clumsy on the field, almost dropping four straight catches.

Meghna Singh was the pick of the bowler taking 4 wickets while Ashleigh Gardner picked two and Mannat Kashyap and Tanuja Kanwar had one each.
GG has never gone past 142 in this tournament, but this is also the first time they will be chasing, having only batted first in their previous three games. If GG does manage to win, they will not allow DC to get to the top of the points table.
