Just adding gold to India's glory is Lovlina Borgohain, who went on win the country's 4th gold medal at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi on Sunday. She won her maiden World Championships Gold Medal after defeating Australia's Caitlin Parker by 5-2 in the middleweight category (70-75kg).

Lovlina started the 1st round on a dominating note against her Australian opponent, but the latter bounced back in the second round. However, in the final round, it turned out to be a tough challenge for the Indian, but she went on to win by split decision.

Earlier in the day, Nikhat Zareen went on to win her bout in the 50kg final. She became only the second Indian boxer to win two or more world titles.

These victories came a day after India's Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety won gold medals on Saturday (March 25).

Nitu (48 kg), who won a medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022, defeated Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg of Mongolia with a score of 5-0 to win her first-ever World Championships medal, while Saweety (81 kg), who has won three Asian medals, won another gold by defeating Wang Lina of China.
