India will participate in the 10-nation Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 hockey competition from June 2 to June 11 in Kakamigahara, Japan.

Direct entry for the Under-21 hockey competition was granted to the Indian junior women's hockey team, along with four other national teams from China, Korea, Japan, and Malaysia according to their international rankings.

The Women's Junior AHF Cup, held in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, in October of last year, allowed Kazakhstan, Hong Kong China, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia to advance.

Indian team:

The side is placed in Pool A, along with Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, South Korea and Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, Pool B comprises hosts Japan, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and defending champions China.

The top three nations from the tournament will qualify for the FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2023.
