In 2023, Marketa Vondrousova won her first Grand Slam title, defeating Ons Jabeur 6-4 6-4 and becoming the first unseeded player to win in the finale. Other former champions in the draw this year are 2022 winner Elena Rybakina and 2018’s Angelique Kerber. World No.1 Iga Swiatek, who has never gone beyond the quarter-finals stage at the tournament, heads into the event as the top seed.

Swiatek is projected to meet the defending champion in the quarter-final stage, while Coco Gauff is expected to be up against French open runner-up Jasmine Paolini. Swiatek tournament opener is against Sofia Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open champion, while Vondrousova plays Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.

The Women’s singles final will be held on July 13. Martina Navratilova holds the record for the most titles, having won 9 times, 6 of which were consecutive. Steffi Graf and Serena Williams are tied at 7 wins on the grass court. While all eyes will be on Swiatek and if she can finally win the coveted grass court Grand Slam, two-time runner up Ons Jabeur could be trying to get third time lucky.
