Unlike other tournaments, Wimbledon has a strict night curfew, with matches permitted till 11 pm only under lights. The event has a strict all-white dress code, and both men’s and singles competition has 128 players each. Wimbledon has 19 courts, with Centre Court and the No.1 Court used only during the Championship. These two courts also have retractable roofs, preventing weather disruptions during the tournament.

Roger Federer holds the record for the most singles victories in the men’s categories, having won eight times, while Novak Djokovic has 7. In the women’s singles, Martina Navratilova’s record of 9 championship wins still stands. Steffi Graf and Serena Williams came close with 7 victories in London. The defending champions in the men’s and singles category are Carlos Alcaraz and Marketa Vondrousova, both of who were first-time winners.

This year, rhe gentlemen’s and ladies’ singles champions and runners-up will receive £2.7 million and £1.4 million respectively.
