On Thursday, April 3, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 80 runs in match 15 of IPL 2025. Playing in front of its home crowd at the Eden Gardens, KKR unleashed all its power to register its second win of the tournament.

SRH, after winning the toss, decided to bowl first. KKR's middle order stood up to the task after losing their openers early. Skipper Anjikya Rahane (38), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50), Venkatesh Iyer (60), and Rinku Singh (32) helped KKR put up a strong total of 200/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, SRH's batting powerhouse failed miserably against KKR's tactical bowling during the second innings. Just like KKR, SRH's top order was back in the dugout early. Apart from Klaasen (33), Mendis (27), Nitish (19), and Cummins (14), every SRH batter failed to reach a double-digit score while chasing the mammoth target of 201. KKR's Vaibhav Arora (3-29) and Varun Chakravarthy (3-22) delivered an exceptional spell and never let SRH batters cut loose.

In the end, SRH innings got wrapped within 17 overs at 120, and KKR emerged victorious by 80 runs. KKR camp was filled with joy and buzz as Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and coach DJ Bravo grooved to the viral Vartman song coupled with Sync Paglu steps.
