The Sunday blockbuster between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) resulted in a four-wicket win for the yellow army. The team displayed clinical performance and outclassed MI in all departments. CSK, after winning the toss, restricted MI to 155/9 and chased down the target with five balls remaining. However, a controversy has erupted on social media following a video surfacing on the internet.
A video of CSK pacer Khaleel Ahmed and skipper Rituraj Gaikwad has caught the attention of fans, after which the players have been accused of ball tampering during the match. In the video, the players can be seen exchanging some stuff before CSK skipper Rituraj puts it in his pocket. The viral video has created a buzz on the internet, and the fans are requesting the officials to investigate the incident. Watch the video here:
The match kicked off with CSK putting MI to bat first after winning the toss. Mumbai Indians lost three wickets in the powerplay, which helped CSK to contain the opponent batters. Innings from Suryakumar Yadav (29), Tilak Verma (31), and Deepak Chahar (28) helped MI to get past the 150-run mark during the match. Noor Ahmad was the pick of bowlers for CSK for his amazing bowling figures of 4-18 in four overs.
In reply, CSK lost Rahul Tripathi in the early part of the innings while chasing the target of 156 runs. Skipper Rituraj Gaikwad played a sensational innings of 53 (26) and built a solid partnership with Rachin Ravindra. Although MI did pick a few wickets in the middle, Rachin held one end strongly and helped CSK to chase that target with five balls to spare.
The next match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the ACA cricket stadium in Vishakhapatnam.
