While Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have not faced off in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 yet, the two teams certainly had their respective matches in the Saturday doubleheader. However, what caught the attention of fans was the star attraction at both games as the owners of PBKS and KKR - Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan, respectively - were seen at the stadiums cheering for their sides.

It was enough for fans to say that indirectly they got their 'Veer Zaara' moment seeing the two Bollywood stars at the stadiums.

In the day game between PBKS and Delhi Capitals (DC), Preity Zinta was a happy owner as her side clinched victory in their season opener game by 4 wickets at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

As for Shah Rukh Khan, he is currently present at the iconic Eden Gardens, being part of the sea of purple while seeing his side get a good total on the board for KKR, who are facing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Currently, in the KKR vs SRH clash, after 14 overs, the Knight Riders have scored 119 runs and lost 6 wickets. KKR opener Philip Salt had an excellent outing, having scored 54, but he just departed. The other batters Sunil Narine (2), Venkatesh Iyer (7), Shreyas Iyer (0), and Nitish Rana (9) all fell in quick succession. Ramandeep Singh played a good cameo of 35 off 17 balls. For SRH, T Natarajan and Mayank Markande both picked two wickets each while skipper Pat Cummins also has one to his name.

At the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to field at the iconic Eden Gardens. The four overseas players for SRH included captain Cummins, along with Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, and Aiden Markram. For KKR, the foreign players were Philip Salt, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and the highest-paid IPL acquisition, Mitchell Starc.
