New Zealand is all set to face United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a three-match T20I series before they embark on their tour to England. Notably, this series will mark New Zealand's inaugural T20I encounter with UAE, as their previous competitive clash was limited to an ODI fixture.

For New Zealand, this assignment will come after their T20I series draw (2-2) against Pakistan earlier this year in March-April. Conversely, UAE's most recent T20I involvement was a 1-2 home series loss to Afghanistan.

The New Zealand squad appears to be a second-string one, as key players such as Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Matt Henry, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, and Ish Sodhi are set to miss the UAE tour. However, they will subsequently rejoin the squad for the England tour.

As for UAE, they are yet to unveil their squad for the upcoming series, but the leadership mantle will be held by Mohammad Waseem, who garnered success with his batting performance earlier this year against Afghanistan.
