In the ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup 2023 group stage match, India faced Afghanistan at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, securing their first victory of the tournament by 7 wickets with 75 balls remaining. India chose to field after winning the toss and limited Afghanistan to 173 runs all out in the 50-over format.

Jamshid Zadran made a solid start with a score of 43, while other batsmen, including Wafiullah Tarakhil (15), Sohil Khan (12), Akram Mohammadzai (20), Numan Shah (25), and Mohammad Younus (26), made contributions with the bat. However, the total runs scored by them were insufficient.

Arshin Kulkarni and Raj Limbani claimed three wickets each, Naman Tiwari picked up two, and Murugan Abhishek and Musheer Khan took one each.

In the chase, Adarsh Singh (14) and Arshin Kulkarni (not-out 70) got India off to a start. Captain Uday Saharan contributed 20, and Musheer Khan's 48 played a crucial role in the win. 

Fans lauded the young Indian side, especially praising Arshin Kulkarni for his all-around performance on social media platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter).

As for the tournament, eight teams are divided into two groups. Group A consists of Afghanistan, India, Nepal, and Pakistan, while Group B features Bangladesh, Japan, Sri Lanka, and hosts UAE.
