International Debut:

Bishan Singh Bedi made his international debut in the 2nd Test against Australia at Kolkata's Eden Gardens in 1967. His first foray into One-Day Internationals (ODIs) occurred in 1974 against England.

Career Stats:

During his illustrious career, Bedi represented India in 67 Test matches, amassing an impressive tally of 266 wickets at an economy rate of 2.14. Notably, he claimed 14 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. In the shorter format, ODIs, Bedi played seven matches and secured seven wickets.

Memorable Bowling Spells:

7/98 vs Australia, 1969: Bedi's most remarkable Test bowling performance came against Australia on December 14, 1969, when he snared seven wickets while conceding 98 runs in the first innings. However, his heroics couldn't prevent India from facing a 10-wicket defeat.

6/42 vs New Zealand, 1969: In a pivotal 1969 match against New Zealand, Bedi showcased his brilliance with a spectacular spell of 6/42. His mesmerizing bowling display helped India dismiss New Zealand for just 127 runs in the second innings, leading to a 60-run victory.

6/71 vs England, 1977: Bedi's magical touch continued in 1977 against England when he secured sensational figures of 6/71. His mastery left the Kiwi batters baffled in the second innings, allowing them to muster only 177 runs. India triumphed in the Test by 140 runs.

5/63 vs England, 1972: Bedi delivered another fantastic performance against England in 1973, taking five wickets for just 63 runs in the second innings, leading India to a 28-run victory.

5/48 vs New Zealand, 1976: In 1976, Bedi picked up five wickets for 48 runs in the first innings against New Zealand, resulting in a drawn match.
