The three-match One-Day International (ODI) series between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan is scheduled to begin on June 2 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.
Notably, the Dasun Shanaka-led team recently had lost 2-0 to New Zealand in a three-match ODI series, and in the two-match Test leg and the three-match T20I series against the Black Caps, they ended in losses for them. Additionally, India trounced Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series in January 2023, winning 3-0.
Afghanistan's most recent ODI series, on the other hand, was a 1-1 tie with Sri Lanka in November 2022. In June 2022, they defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in an effective three-match ODI series as well.
