The season opener of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) witnessed RCB losing yet another game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. New skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad led his side to a 6-wicket victory at their fortress, prompting netizens to troll RCB and their loss.

However, why is YouTuber CarryMinati, also known as Ajey Nagar, receiving the most trolling on X (formerly known as Twitter), especially from Virat Kohli and RCB fans?

Just days before IPL 2024 began, Star Sports collaborated with popular YouTuber CarryMinati, aka Ajey Nagar. The 24-year-old Delhi-based content creator was signed as the new face of 'Cheeky Singles', Star Sports' special weekly show that captures the fun side of the sport.

However, soon after the game between RCB and CSK concluded, CarryMinati was seen trolling the Royal Challengers, especially Kohli, stating that the reason the batter does not eat sweets is not because of a diet but because he has no reason to ever celebrate.

This cheeky dig did not sit well with fans, as CarryMinati went on to even compare Kohli to Rohit Sharma as well. Soon enough, 'Shame on CarryMinati' was trending on X, however, the tag was also used by haters to promote Ajey Nagar's video on Kohli.

CSK vs RCB Highlights:

As for the clash, the packed Chepauk crowd saw Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja finish things off in CSK's favour to secure their first win of the new season. The home side showcased an overall performance as they chased down 174 runs, with Ruturaj Gaikwad (15) and Rachin Ravindra (37) providing a solid start, followed by contributions from Ajinkya Rahane (27), Daryl Mitchell (22), Shivam Dube (34*), and Ravindra Jadeja (25*). For the Royal Challengers, Cameron Green picked up two wickets, while Karn Sharma and Yash Dayal claimed one each.

Earlier, RCB saw wickets fall early courtesy of Mustafizur Rahman's four-wicket haul, while Deepak Chahar also secured one wicket, and one was a run-out by MS Dhoni. Although Faf du Plessis (35) started well, RCB lost Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell for ducks in one over. Virat Kohli (21) and Cameron Green (18) attempted to stabilize the innings, but they too departed early. Later, Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik stitched a solid 95-run partnership to help RCB reach a total of 173 runs.
