During the T20I series against Sri Lanka, BCCI had given fans good news saying Jasprit Bumrah will be returning to the Indian side for the ODIs after recovering from injury. However, just a day before the game, the pacer, who was set to join the team in Guwahati, is ruled out of the 3-match ODI series.
According to the press release, it is said that Bumrah will need some more time to build bowling resilience and this decision has been taken as a precautionary measure.
While the All-India Senior Selection Committee has not named any replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, many fans are unhappy with the decision, and some believe they are keeping him ready for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
India will play their first ODI against Sri Lanka on January 10 in Guwahati.
