In the 1st semi-final against New Zealand, Virat Kohli played a memorable innings, scoring 117 runs and achieving his 50th ODI century. The feat was particularly special as it happened at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Tendulkar's home turf, and in his presence.

With the record-breaking moment, an old video of Tendulkar discussing potential record-breakers resurfaced. In the throwback clip, actor Salman Khan asked Tendulkar about the Indian cricketer who could surpass his records. Salman expressed doubt, suggesting that nobody might achieve it. Tendulkar promptly responded, pointing out, 'Virat and Rohit are the ones.'

After Kohli surpassed his record, Tendulkar showed his appreciation by giving a standing ovation and a warm embrace during the mid-innings presentation. The cricket legend also expressed his admiration for the King with a heartfelt note on social media.
