Former Indian spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin, who is currently playing IPL 2025 for Chennai Super Kings, has decided not to cover his team-specific matches anymore during the season on his YouTube channel. The player boasts a massive subscriber base of 1.67 million and has a good viewership on the daily videos posted on the channel.
The channel currently posts daily pre- and post-match analysis by the regular guests on Ashwin's show. However, the channel has recently faced backlash from the CSK fans for the way things have been presented despite Ashwin playing for the franchise.
Prasanna Agoram, one of the regular guests on Ashwin's channel, recently criticised CSK's poor performance in the recent IPL 2025 matches and also questioned player selection. He mentioned that there is no need of Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad in the playing XI since Ashwin and Jadeja are already there. This statement sparked controversy, and CSK fans started questioning Prasanna's analysis.
Following the backlash from CSK fans after Prasanna Agoram's comments, the channel admin posted a note in the community posts stating that they have chosen to step away from covering upcoming CSK games in IPL 2025. Here's the complete note:
"Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season."
The note further added that the views expressed during the show do not reflect Ravichandran Ashwin's personal opinions.
"We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we've established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin's personal opinions.
We appreciate all those who engage thoughtfully with the spirit of the show. Your feedback continues to help us refine and improve what we've built over the years. The Small Council will continue with all non-CSK games as usual.
Looking forward to witnessing the rest of this exciting IPL season with all of you."
