Indian shuttler PV Sindhu will be taking on Singapore's Yeo Jia Min in the women's singles semi-final of the Madrid Spain Masters 2023 at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur in Madrid, Spain on Saturday.

After defeating Danish opponent Mia Blichfeldt in straight games, Sindhu secured a spot in the semi-final. In the 40-minute quarterfinal match, she overcame the unseeded Dane 21-14, 21-17.

The two-time Olympic medallist, in the earlier rounds, had eased past Switzerland's Jenjira Sadelmann (21-10, 21-14) and Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia (21-14, 21-16) in straight games. 

Talking about Sindhu's opponent, Jia Min, on the other hand, reached the semi-finals with a straight games win against eighth-seeded Beiwen Zhang of the USA. The Singaporean shuttler had defeated her American opponent 21-16, 21-14 in the match that lasted for 32 minutes.
