Following the heartbreaking defeat in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided solace to the Indian players, including captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli. He visited the dressing room in Ahmedabad after the final game, attempting to boost the team's morale. Despite winning all its previous games in the tournament, India lost the final to Australia.

In a clip shared of his interaction with the players, PM Modi and India's Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, were seen in the dressing room with Team India. The Prime Minister comforted Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, patting their backs, and engaged in conversation with head coach Rahul Dravid.

PM Modi conveyed a heartfelt message to the team, expressing pride in India's campaign in the World Cup and affirming the nation's support during this challenging moment.

In a social media post, he stated, "Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup was noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always."

Earlier in the day, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami highlighted the positive impact of PM Modi's visit to the dressing room immediately after the heartbreaking loss in the final.

The Prime Minister was observed embracing an emotional Shami, who had an outstanding campaign, picking up 24 wickets in 7 matches in World Cup 2023.

PM Modi has consistently shown a commitment to recognizing and uplifting Indian athletes by commending their performances on the grandest sporting platforms.

Following the Tokyo Olympics, the Commonwealth Games last year, and the Asian Games this year, PM Modi welcomed Indian athletes, praising their significant contributions in bringing pride to the nation.
