PAK vs BAN: WATCH Litton Das 'freeze' at the crease after being dismissed by Iftikhar Ahmed

Despite losing early wickets during the Powerplay, Bangladesh managed to build a strong partnership between Litton Das and Mahmudullah in their ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan in Kolkata. However, Iftikhar Ahmed was brought in to break the partnership and succeeded by dismissing Das.

Litton Das had a gentle and soft dismissal. His expression turned to sheer disbelief, but he had to make his way back to the pavilion. Iftikhar bowled a delicately floated off-break, which spun back into the right-hander. Litton Das attempted a flick a fraction too early, resulting in the ball catching the leading edge and popping into the hands of Salman Ali Agha at mid-wicket.

It was a cruel twist of fate for Litton Das as he departed for 45, and the promising partnership was broken. What caught everyone's attention was Ravi Shastri's comments to the other commentators. From the replays shown, Das remained motionless for about 45 seconds after being dismissed before eventually walking off.

In the earlier part of the match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens. Pakistan received an early boost with Shaheen Afridi taking his 100th ODI wicket in the very first over. Afridi later claimed another wicket, and Haris Rauf secured the important dismissal of Mushfiqur Rahim.
