The second T20I between New Zealand and Pakistan is over, and it's the NZ who have emerged victorious by 5 wickets. The rain-affected match at the University Oval, Dunedin, was reduced to 15 overs per side. New Zealand, having won the toss, put Pakistan to bat first.
Kiwi fast bowler Jacob Duffy struck in the first over, dismissing Hasan Nawaz for a 3-ball duck. Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha played a good hand of 46 runs in 28 balls. Additionally, key contributions from Shadab Khan (26) and Shaheen Afridi (22) helped Pakistan to set a competitive total of 135/9 in 15 overs.
In reply, New Zealand batters chased down the target in just 13.1 overs, thanks to the 66-run opening stand between Tim Siefert and Finn Allen. Both the batters took the attack on Pak bowlers and smashed 7 sixes in the first three overs of the innings. Although Pakistan did pick a few wickets in the middle phase, it was too late, as the damage was already done by the openers.
New Zealand opening batter Tim Siefert was out of the blocks as quickly as it could be. After playing a first maiden over against Shaheen Afridi, Siefert smashed him for 26 runs in an over, with four massive sixes. Before that, his partner Finn Allen too hit three sixes in Mohammad Ali's over.

Pakistan's performance in the first two matches has raised big concerns for the team management. With 2-0 down, Pakistan will have to revamp their strategy in order to make a comeback in the five-match series. As of now, they have been outclassed by the Kiwis in all sorts of departments. The third match of the series will be played on March 21 at Eden Park in Auckland. The hosts, New Zealand, would like to carry on with their winning momentum and seal the series in the next match.
