The humiliation streak continues for Pakistan as they have been thrashed by the Black Caps by 88 runs in the second ODI played at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. With this, New Zealand has sealed the three-match ODI series by taking the 2-0 lead against Pakistan. The hosts were put to bat first after Pakistan elected to bowl.
The NZ batters were off to a flyer as the openers Nick Kelly (31) and Rhys Mariu (18) added 54 runs for the first wicket in 6.2 overs. PAK bowlers made a decent comeback afterwards and picked five wickets at 132 runs. However, the gritty knocks from Muhammad Abbas (41) and Mitchell Hay (99) guided the Kiwis to a competitive total of 292/8 in 50 overs.
In reply, the Pakistani top order collapsed against NZ bowlers, and half of their side went back to the pavilion at the score of 32. The chase became almost impossible for the visitors as they were eight wickets down at 114 in 28 overs. Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf (73) and Naseem Shah (51) did show some intent down the order, but it wasn't enough as the team's innings got wrapped up at 208 runs in 41.2 overs.
