Australian power hitter Travis Head has emerged to be one of the major threats to opponent bowlers. The batter has electrifying knocks in almost every format of cricket in recent times. Head is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He was the leading run scorer for SRH in the previous IPL edition; however, the batter has struggled a bit in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Travis recently showed up in an interview conducted by CricketNext. Travis Head was asked about his favourite Indian batter, and surprisingly, it was not Virat Kohli. The player instead picked the Hitman Rohit Sharma as his one and only choice and wished he could open with him.
Travis Head kicked off the 2025 IPL season with a banger, scoring 67 off 31 against Rajasthan Royals. The player carried his form in the next game against LSG and made a crucial 47 off 28 balls. However, Head only managed to score 22, 8, and 4 in the next three matches against DC, KKR, and GT, respectively. The player made a comeback in the clash against Punjab Kings and smashed 66 runs off 37, helping SRH to give a solid start in the run chase.
SRH's success has primarily depended on the performance of the top order; hence, it becomes even more important for Travis Head to play at his best. SRH has managed to win only two matches out of six played in the season. To qualify for the playoffs, the team requires their top order to strike on a continuous basis. It would be important to see what unfolds for SRH in the upcoming matches.
Apart from relying completely on their top order, SRH's middle order also needs to pull up their socks and ensure that the team doesn't fall behind if Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma depart early. The team will play its next match against the Mumbai Indians on April 17 at the Wankhede Stadium.
