The BCCI has unveiled the India squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia, commencing on November 23, 2023, in Visakhapatnam. While Suryakumar Yadav has been designated as the captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad will be serving as vice-captain for the initial three T20Is. Shreyas Iyer will assume the role of vice-captain in the squad for the fourth and fifth T20Is.
While many are looking forward to the clash of the two World Cup finalists, Sanju Samson once again finds himself excluded from the India squad, despite captaining the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Another glaring omission that has left fans agitated is the absence of spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg-spinner, last played T20Is for India during their West Indies tour in August. Following his exclusion from the T20I squad for the West Indies series, the veteran spinner posted a cryptic message on social media.
Despite an impressive performance, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who secured 16 wickets in 7 matches for Uttar Pradesh, has also been overlooked for the T20Is. However, according to PTI, the pacer is no longer in Team India contention.
