The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, scheduled to be held in India. KL Rahul will lead the side for the initial two out of three ODIs.
Ravindra Jadeja has been named vice-captain for the initial two ODIs while Ravichandran Ashwin has been added to the squad making his return to the ODI format.
Among these developments, one player conspicuously absent from the squad, not surprisingly, was Sanju Samson. The wicketkeeper-batsman was initially part of the Indian team as a standby player for KL Rahul during the Asia Cup 2023. However, following Rahul's recovery from injury, Samson was subsequently omitted from the squad.

India's regular captain, Rohit Sharma, along with Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya, will be resting during the first two ODIs and will make their return for the third game, with Rohit reassuming his role as captain.
