Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popularly known as 'Captain Cool' for his remarkable cricketing skills, exhibits his expertise off the field as well. Whether it's cricket-related or not, Dhoni's intelligence, witty responses, and modest demeanour shine through when he addresses various topics.

At the Prabhav 2023 event, organized by the Rigi app, Dhoni offered valuable advice and insights to the unmarried men in the audience. He delved into his married life, highlighting the pivotal role played by his wife, Sakshi, in managing their family.

Dhoni also commended both his wife and mother for their adept budget management skills in running the household. Amid discussions about domestic stability, Dhoni injected a touch of humour with some light-hearted jokes.

"I feel, as a man, all the masala in our life comes from the wife. She keeps our life going. You may be the captain of the Indian cricket team or the ex-captain, but it hardly matters to them," Dhoni replied to comedian Tanmay Bhat and influencer Sharan Hegde's question on his wife being a grounding factor.

"You have a place in the house and usually it is not your choice," Dhoni light-heartedly said adding that wives make men do things their way but later make you believe that it is your decision.

"They also help us in a big way…life is chaotic, as you said. Imagine there is a trainer in the house who is training you to control that chaos by creating chaos inside the house," he added.

Dhoni said that jokes apart, wives are the ones who run the family. "But whatever said and done, we all joke about it, that’s a common thing. But they are the pillar of strength in the family. Whether it is my wife or if I see my mom, they are the ones who run the family," he said.

The former Indian captain revealed that he hails from a middle-class family, where his father was the primary breadwinner and never inquired about how his mother managed the household finances. "She has a budget and she has to run the full 30 days or whatever. They are excellent at it. I feel that they are the ones who bring comfort into our family…you always fall back on them. You can ask them anything. Often when I am frustrated, I take my frustration out on them…which is not a good thing…and I eventually have to pay a heavy price…but that’s how life is," he said.

He went on to encourage the men in the audience to consider marriage if they've found someone who makes them happy.

As for Dhoni, he tied the knot with Sakshi Singh Rawat in 2010 in Dehradun, in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends. The couple has an eight-year-old daughter named Zeeva Dhoni.

MS Dhoni also shared his thoughts on the performance of the Indian cricket team in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, emphasizing that the team is well-balanced and exceptionally strong.
