On January 5, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, filed a criminal complaint against his ex-business associates from Aarka Sports and Management Limited, alleging a fraudulent transaction amounting to ₹15 crore.

As per NDTV's report, Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwas are the individuals named in the complaint filed in a Ranchi court, about a business deal in 2017.

In that year, Diwakar had purportedly agreed with Dhoni to establish cricket academies worldwide under the cricketer's name. However, the complaint contends that Diwakar failed to adhere to the specified conditions, including the establishment of a cricket academy.

According to Dhoni's complaint, Aarka Sports was contractually obligated to pay the franchise fee and share profits according to the agreed-upon ratio, but it allegedly did not fulfil the stipulated terms and conditions.

Subsequently, on August 15, 2021, Dhoni revoked the authorization letter for Aarka Sports and issued multiple legal notices to the firm.

During proceedings in the Ranchi Court, represented by his lawyer Dayanand Singh, Dhoni asserted that Aarka Sports engaged in fraudulent practices, resulting in a financial loss exceeding ₹15 crore.

In a parallel development, Simant Lohani, a friend of Dhoni, also lodged a complaint against Diwakar, claiming threats and abuse after legal action was initiated against Aarka Sports.

The sports firm's website prominently features Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its cover image and declares specialization in athlete and player management, boasting of providing 'top-class consultancy.'
