New Zealand veteran batter Kane Williamson recently talked about what the future of international cricket looks like. The player also predicted the next generation of 'Fabulous Five' of the cricket. For those who are not aware, international cricket currently has the Fab Four, which is a term used for the best four batters of the current generation. It includes India's Virat Kohli, New Zealand's Kane Williamson, England's Joe Root, and Australia's Steve Smith.
Since cricket is moving towards a transition with new talented players making their way to international cricket, one can expect the list to have new names replacing the older ones. Kane Williamson has added one more player and made it 'Fab Five'. He has named five players, out of which two are from India. The list includes Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Cameron Green, Harry Brook, and Rachin Ravindra.
Speaking to TOI, Kane Williamson said, "The five players who come to mind would be Yashasvi Jaiswal (India), Shubhman Gill (India), Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand), Harry Brook (England), and Cameron Green (Australia).
Former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson went unsold during the IPL mega auctions held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in November 2024. However, the player will be part of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. He will be joining Karachi Kings on April 23 or 24. Williamson is currently part of the IPL commentator panel.
Kane Williamson recently visited Mumbai and participated in a practice session with the emerging players at a cricket academy. The player had a light-hearted interaction with the fans. A young fan asked him about his cricketing idol, to which he replied, Sachin Tendulkar.
When it comes to international cricket, Kane Williamson is likely to feature in the T20I tri-series between New Zealand, Zimbabwe, and South Africa in July 2025.
