The Mumbai Indians have been in the spotlight owing to their recent mega purchase ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. The five-time champions were engaged in the transfer of Hardik Pandya from his former employer Gujarat Titans as part of a one-way, 'all-cash' transaction, which was confirmed to have gone through on Monday, November 27.

But that is not all as far as the Mumbai Indians franchise is concerned because the latest development suggests that something might not be all rosy between the franchise and its superstar bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Well, it's all conjecture at this point but with Bumrah leaving a cryptic post behind on social media, speculations are rife about things not being okay between the two parties.

"Silence is sometimes the best answer," wrote Jasprit Bumrah in his Instagram story, refraining from stating exactly what he is referring to. Again, there's no conclusive evidence to the fact that he is speaking of his home franchise here but social media is already convinced of a rift.

Could this be an "all smoke and no fire" kind of situation? Well, one certainly hopes it is. Just as social media users have found themselves up in arms about the pacer unfollowing the Mumbai Indians on social media, one learns of the possibility that he never followed in the first place. That still does not fully explain the seemingly "cryptic" nature of his latest story, but it would be wise to perhaps let him do all the talking for now.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is fresh off a superb World Cup 2023 wherein he picked up 20 wickets at an average of only 18.65. More importantly, the lanky bowler proved to be almost unplayable all throughout the tournament and looked at his mighty best in the CWC Final against Australia as well, picking two of the three wickets inside the powerplay. However, Bumrah could not win Team India that elusive trophy and one could expect him to still reeling in the aftermath of that game, which went Australia's way.
