West Indies' six-hitting machine Christopher Henry Gayle is regarded as one of the most ruthless batters in the world. His presence on the pitch used to make opponent bowlers scratch their heads. The player had the unique ability to stand and deposit the ball into the crowds with so much ease. Gayle had hit 553 sixes in his international cricket career, which makes him the second player on the list for most sixes hit by a player.

Amidst all of the dominance that Chris Gayle showcased in his cricketing career, there was one Indian bowler who used to make his legs shake. According to former Indian cricketer Kris Srikanth, Chris Gayle used to fear facing Ravichandran Ashwin. This is a big statement made by the former great while speaking at a book launch event in Chennai.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Srikanth said, "Chris Gayle could hit anyone for sixes and fours, but all it took for Ashwin to dismiss him was four balls. When Ashwin got the ball in his hand, Gayle's legs started shaking."

When it comes to the IPL faceoff between Chris Gayle and Ravi Ashwin, it is clearly evident that the bowler had kept the West Indian batter quiet on numerous occasions. Ashwin has bowled 84 deliveries to Gayle, and the batter has only managed to score 72 runs against him.

Srikanth credits MS Dhoni for identifying Ashwin's talent

During the same event, Srikanth lauded former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for identifying Ashwin's talent. He further mentioned that Dhoni helped the off-spinner and made him a bowler of all formats.

"The man who identified him as a great T20 bowler was Dhoni. Ashwin has evolved from T20 to ODIs to Tests in an amazing manner. He is not only a good bowler but also a great batter," he said."

In the upcoming IPL season, Ravi Ashwin will represent Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The player has already announced retirement from international cricket after a sensational career across all the formats.
