MS Dhoni gave fans at the Wankhede Stadium what they came for - seeing him bat and smash boundaries. In Match 29 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and opted to bowl, getting two quick wickets from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Ajinkya Rahane (5 off 8) and Rachin Ravindra (21 off 16).

However, it was skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (69 off 40) and Shivam Dube (66* off 38) who lit up the stadium with boundaries. Later, Daryl Mitchell also added runs (17 off 14), but it was Dhoni's explosiveness who came to the crease to face just the final 4 balls and went on to smash 20 runs that entertained fans.

Fans at the stadium and online could not keep calm as they started praising the legend of CSK who hit a hat-trick of sixes, adding salt to Hardik Pandya's wounds, leaking 26 runs in the final over of the innings.

In the 20 overs, CSK scored 206 runs and lost 4 wickets, courtesy of captain Hardik Pandya picking two wickets while Gerald Coetzee and Shreyas Gopal took one each.

Skipper Ruturaj led from the front, smashing 5 fours and as many maximums while Dube hit 10 fours and 2 sixes.
