After being divided due to international commitment, cricket fans can't wait to watch their favourite teams and players come together and compete in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is due to start on March 31.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans to stage a gala opening ceremony in Ahmedabad on March 31 ahead of the opening match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Details of the IPL 2023 opening ceremony and all you need to know:
When: March 31, 2023
Where: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
Time: Expected to begin by 6 pm and will continue for about 45 minutes.
Who will perform: While it has been confirmed that singer Arijit Singh is set to perform in the opening ceremony, actress Tamannaah Bhatia's participation has also been finalised via social media handles. There’s a buzz that Rashmika Mandanna, Tiger Shroff and Katrina Kaif could also be performing at the event.

With the home and away format back in action, only Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya along with his Chennai Super Kings counterpart Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be present for the opening ceremony.
